e-efficiency
With increasing worldwide competition and stricter regulations as well as increasing labour, raw material and energy costs, improving the efficiency of textile production is becoming more important. Shortages of key production factors such as water and increasing quality demands from customers already affect your company and will only become more prevalent.
This e-efficiency tool will support you to meet these challenges, through the identification of efficiency improvement options. Designed as an easy to use performance measurement and management programme, it helps you to quantify and cut water, energy and material costs, to reduce your risks and improve your product quality - in other words - improve your overall performance.
e-efficiency also contributes to your communication with key internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate efficiency improvements to the company management and staff. Customers that put forward specific demands in terms of quality or environmental criteria will see your efforts to meet their needs. It supports you in convincing investors that your company is a sound investment and helps you to demonstrate public authorities that you deal with the regulations in a professional way.
Structured in 12 sections (+ Appendix), the e-efficiency tool tackles a specific improvement area or management issue, such as water and energy consumption or risk management in each of them. Within each section, you will systematically identify cost- and (eco-)efficient improvement options and be able to benchmark your performance. Each section can be easily carried out within 1 month in parallel to the daily business, allowing completing a full cycle within one year.

The 12 sections are designed according to the following structure:
- In section 1-2 you will set up a team, gather general information about your company to get an overview of your current performance.
- During section 3 - 9, you will identify opportunities to improve your efficiency. You will start with input factors, such as water, energy and raw materials (section 3 - 5), assess options to minimise the usage of hazardous substances (section 6) and reduce the different waste streams (section 7). In section 8 and 9 product quality and health and safety issues will be considered.
- A review of your progress will start the last quarter of the year (section 10). Having analysed the progress you are asked to tell your story (section 11) - to those inside and outside the company, such as investors, customers, suppliers and employees. Finally (section 12), get recognition and maintain the programme!
