e-learning

The e-learning tool is meant for those who would like to know the philosophy behind and the practical possibilities of 'doing things better' in the production industry. With 'doing things better' in this context is meant producing in a manner which is more environmentally and economically - in whichever sequence - beneficial. This relates to making processes more efficient in terms of raw material and energy consumption, meaning less raw materials are converted into waste and less energy is converted into (waste-)heat. The prime motivation is that all raw materials and energy, not converted into waste but instead converted into products, generate savings rather than expenses.

This logic holds true for all human activities, but applies specifically to the production sector where the use of raw materials and energy is of large quantities. In the e-learning tool this logic is presented in five learning units, namely:

Unit 1 - Introduction to Cleaner Production
Unit 2 - Process Analysis of Textile Manufacturing
Unit 3 - Introduction to LCA Methodology And Practice
Unit 4 - Environmental Management Systems
Unit 5 - Industrial Water Management

Each unit consists of several text documents as well as power point presentations in a PDF-downloadable form. Click on the links to each unit to learn more about the issues.

The links below will direct you to the video presentations of the study material presented here. These are optional materials. Please click on the links below to access each part or the course.
You will need at least an ADSL connection and Media Player version 9 for effective downloading and playing. Click here for exact software and hardware requirements.
