Section 12 - Getting Recognition
Until now you have worked hard to improve your efficiency, quality and overall environmental performance. For most measures, tapping the full improvement potential and realising all cost reductions will take longer than just going once through the improvement cycle. Keeping up your work and building on the good basis already achieved is a key. Yet, for the improvement already achieved you should try to gain public awareness, for example through award programmes at local, regional, national and international levels.

Your benefits
Awards and product labels can help to increase your reputation in the market due to the public awareness they stimulate. Another way of gaining recognition is through the certification of your products and/or facility. Apart from the external recognition it is most important to establish a basis for further cost cuttings. Set targets fro the next improvement cycle to keep the program going. This is the only way to further increase your savings and to tap the full performance improvement potential.

This section will support you to

  • identify relevant award programs and apply to get certificates for your work
  • celebrate your achievements
  • set goals for the next year to continue, maybe even increase your cost reductions
