Section 6 - Risk Management and Prevention
Hazardous substances, such as solvents, acids and dyestuff are widely used in the textile industry. They do not only possess a risk to your employees, but also to your neighbours, the environment and your product quality. Risks that result from the use of hazards have gained increasing attention throughout the last decades. It is often overlooked, that a preventative approach, e.g. by reducing the quantities used or substituting them with less problematic substances is the most preferable way.
Your benefits
Scrutinising the risks that might arise from the usage of hazardous substances, will lead to improved safety standards in your facilities. The identification of the true costs of high-risk materials will highlight how much money you can save with a proper risk management. Another important factor are chemicals that remain in your products after processing. Serious health problems for the end-user, such as allergic reactions, might result from it, potentially diminishing your exporting possibilities. You can improve your exporting opportunities when you deal with risks adequately as more and more whole sellers take this issue into consideration.
